Central Connecticut State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Computer Science (CS) Department beginning August 2018. Responsibilities include teaching a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate computer science courses for majors and non-majors, serving on departmental and university committees, advising students, and conducting scholarly research. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body.
The Department: The CCSU Computer Science department offers undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare highly qualified computing professionals to meet the growing demands of the industry. The Honors Bachelor of Science program in Computer Science is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET. CS majors have the option to take a Cybersecurity concentration, which prepares them with advanced skills and in-depth knowledge for defending and developing secure software systems. The department has also recently added a Master’s program in Software Engineering, and will be part of a new interdisciplinary Cybersecurity Bachelor of Science program as well. These programs are expected to provide a strong background to professionals in critical areas of the software industry, such as cloud computing, big data and data mining, Internet of things, mobile application development, and comprehensive software security.
